Have you ever been in this situation where out of nowhere you start stuttering or you don’t know what to say ? That’s me, every time I got asked to introduce myself. Because I have no idea of what my interlocutor really wants to know, therefore I ignore what constitutes an appropriate answer. So, I do what everyone does, I unpack my resume, name, first name, age, my studies, my professional experiences ... If the person in front of me is not already bored, I'm the one who is. So, how to present my person on my website, when I have no one in front of me and I'm alone in front of my screen? I should put my resume online and a naked picture of my body, so you'll have a glimpse of me. Except that I'm a modest person and a resume does not describe a person’s character or his aspirations.
How am I going to introduce myself ?
Besides, I could begin by describing myself in three words, or with my three greatest flaws or qualities. Some like to ask such questions, they have probably stolen the idea out of psychology or lifestyle magazines. That’s true, it helps to break the ice between strangers. But, I am not a big fan of that neither. Just in three words, really? Is that a thing? My answer will greatly depends on my overall mood. So it's a bit too random for me to make a good impression. Yeah I got to admit, I want to make a good impression, that's why I'm a little stressed out, you'll notice that in my hashed speech.
So why not talk about my passions, I think it's a good starting point to get to know me, right? I have always been a relatively curious person. I like to learn new things. I like to understand how things work, people's behaviors, such as "Sylar" in the "Heroes" TV show. "Sylar" is the bad guy who opens the skull of others to steal their powers. The point is I like to learn.
I self-taught computer science twice. The first time, it was almost ten years ago, I developed an e-commerce website (which is no longer available). After that, I moved on to other projects and I completely abandoned web programming until the end of 2017. Having forgotten everything in that field, I had to learn everything again to give birth to this website you are browsing on. Feel free to comment on the design of the site, the bugs that may exist, the comfort of use of the site, it would be a great pleasure to read you.
Another passion in my life is photography, I bought my first DSLR around 10 years ago, the Pentax k-x, some pictures published on this site come from this camera. The camera relatively small size allowed me to slip it in my bag to carry it everywhere and for every occasion. It was the time before smartphones began to make very nice pictures. This camera followed me for the first part of my life in China.
Another aspect of my center of interest is the pronounced taste for traveling. But that's common to everyone I think. Besides, I'm planning a little tour of France. It was in China that I realized that I do not know my country, all of those remarkable places I've heard about, but where I've never been to. In a second time, this little tour of France will change, if everything goes well, into a tour of Europe, then, let's cross our fingers, to a world tour.
These past few years, I have also cultivated a particular interest in "well-being" concept. I realized that you have to take care of your body, to listen to it. I started doing sports, I quit smoking and I learn a lot about nutrition. This awareness has influenced my studies, my master's thesis focused on the economic and human costs of obesity on Chinese society. This socioeconomic masterpiece research is available upon request from the Xiamen University Library.
That's a piece of me already, it's a lot of things to read I think and I'll finish telling you about myself in a second part.
